Outlook Express Email Setup
- Open Outlook Express.
- Click on the "Tools" menu.
- Select "Accounts" from the list of menu items.

- Select the Mail tab.
- Select the “Add” button.
- Select “Mail” from the list of menu items.

Enter a display name. This is the name that will be displayed to receivers of your email to indicate who sent the message.

Enter your full email address.

Select IMAP or POP3
- POP3 downloads email to your computer. Your email will be stored in the Inbox under “Local Folders".
- IMAP reads your email but keeps all of your messages on the server. The email is not downloaded to your computer unless you copy or move the message manually. This is the recommended setting if you will be accessing mail from multiple locations because it is very reliable.
Enter the incoming and outgoing mail server names.
- Mail server name: “mail.roadstarinternet.biz” for both incoming and outgoing.

- Enter your email name. NOTE: Use the entire email address eg. John@rstarmail.com The information you type in this field is case sensitive.
- Enter user password, same as in Easy Mail Setup. Between 4 and 8 characters. The information you type in this field is sensitive.

- Click Finish
- To change account properties, use following steps.
- Select the account that was just created. It will be named “mail.roadstarinternet.biz”, click on “Properties”

- Select the “Servers” tab.
- Check “My server requires authentication”.
- Verify that “Log on using Secure Password Authentication” is not checked.

- Click the settings button, (see above image) which is now active.
- Confirm that you have “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”, or if you have manually entered some information here, confirm that it is the same as the incoming information. The information you type in this field is case sensitive. Click “OK” when you have confirmed the settings.

- Select the “Advanced” tab.
- NOTE: You can select “Leave copy of messages on server” at this point. This will force POP3 mail service to perform similar to IMAP.
- If you are accessing mail from multiple locations, this setting can cause some reliability problems.
- We recommend that you use IMAP instead of this setting for improved reliability.

- Once settings are complete, click “Apply” then “OK”.
- Close the “Internet Accounts” window.
- Test email account by “Send/Receive” button at the top of Outlook Express.
- Perform a follow-up test by sending a message to a friend's email account and asking the friend to reply to the email. This will test both sending and receiving email.
