Roadstar Internet is the premier wireless broadband network provider serving enterprise and residences in Loudoun County, Virginia and the surrounding mid-Atlantic area. Roadstar operates its own wireless network using various licensed and unlicensed spectrum. With a unique, scalable network architecture that includes a wireless, high-speed core infrastructure, Roadstar provides efficient connectivity solutions to enterprise, residences, towns, municipalities, and enhanced service providers.

The Roadstar connectivity solutions provide the flexibility of megabit and multi-megabit performance along with the feature, functionality, and reliability required for complete, end-to-end, commercial internet network services. Roadstar is led by a management team with longstanding experience in providing highly-scalable internet services, infrastructure, and operations.

Our History

Roadstar was created to fill a need for affordable, available high-speed broadband access to homes and businesses located within the high-growth areas surrounding the metro Washington DC area.

Roadstar was founded in July 2002 to bring wireless broadband connectivity services to Loudoun County Virginia and the surrounding region. Roadstar immediately began deploying its wireless infrastructure and began offering production services to customers in January 2003. With a unique business model focused on scalability, operational efficiency, financial discipline, and smart growth, Roadstar continues to expand its coverage area and grow a sizable customer base of residential and enterprise customers.

Chief Executive Officer
Meet Our Team

CEO & Founder - Marty Dougherty brings over 19 years of executive management experience in telecommunications companies. Marty spent 8 years at Newbridge Networks from its inception and held various management roles including leadership positions for the Newbridge Sales Engineering and Support Organizations. Marty also held Senior management roles at Accelerated Networks, Tachion, and Occam Networks. At Accelerated Networks, Marty was instrumental in building the sales engineering organization and with taking the company to a successful IPO. Marty has extensive experience deploying leading edge technology in service provider networks and has worked with RBOC's CLEC's and IOC's to evaluate and deploy access technology.

Director of Operations

Director of Operations - David Gerwig brings 30 years of technical and field operations expertise in various RF and wireless companies including over 20 years as CEO of Gerwig Antenna Company. David is an expert on various operational aspects of wireless deployments and has extensive experience with tower installations. David has experience with outsourcing and has worked in the past to build operation/installation teams for other wireless services.
